US companies highly optimistic on GST rollout: USIBC President

US companies have raised issues regarding the GST, solvency and ease of doing business. India has responded to all the queries. But queries concerning H1B visa and participation in APAC raised by Indian companies have not been answered yet.

He expects the next 24 months to be disruptive for India due to the GST Bill. But he feels Indian and US companies along with Indian consumers stand to benefit from this tax reform in the long run.

The annual commerce dialogue between India and the United States will begin today. US Secretary of State John Kerry is in India and will lead the talks with Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley as both the countries hope to bolster economic ties.

Aghi says he will ensure that the next US presidency takes forward these issues.
