Welcoming the move of the union government to implement GST from the financial year 2016-17,the Puducherry Traders Federation(PTF) has urged the centre to ensure that the tax slab is maintained below 17 per cent.
In a memorandum submitted to BJP national president Amit shah who visited Puducherry yesterday,copy made available to the press today,the PTF pointed out that all the tax is going to be paid by the end user,the common public and their sentiment is very important to the government. Seeking a special tax holiday package for the industries herethe PTF urged the government to include small traders in folder of Mudra Bank since traders are the most affected by the local unauthorized vendors.
The PTF also urged the centre to lay a railway line on the east coast connecting Chennai and Cuddalore via Puducherry,repening of the textile mills here and inclusion of Puducherry in the smart city project. PTF general secretary Balou and president Sivasankaran signed the memorandum
